Bill, 70, passed away at 1:32 a.m., at his home.

He was a son to James "Pete" and Bessie (Darst) Wills. On Sep 2, 1961, he married Charlotte M. Hemmert, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Michael (Linda), Huntsville, AL, Kevin (Laura), Danville, David (Karrie), Maumee, and Douglas Wills, Wapak; two brothers, James "Jim" (Marlene), Wapakoneta, and Richard, Portland, TX; three sisters, Betty Hemmert and Dorothy (Ned) Hobler, both Wapak, and Catherine Harris, Johnston, RI; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Robert) Krebs, Botkins; five grandchildren, Ashley, Abby, Addison, Garren, and Katie Wills; and two stepgrandchildren, Kyla and Kelby Hammond.

Deceased are a brother and three sisters, all linked below.

He retired in 2000 as a production supervisor at Dana Corp., Lima. Before that, he served as a police officer with the city of Wapakoneta. He was a seven-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1272, both in Wapakoneta. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445, Wapak, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auglaize Co. Chapter 73. He was a proud member of the VFW Honor Guard. An avid golfer, he enjoyed traveling and was a fan of Notre Dame, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, and University of Dayton basketball. He would say his two favorite teams were Notre Dame and any team playing Ohio State.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapak, with Fr. Matthew Lee, officiating.
